Terms and Conditions 

These terms and conditions set out the terms under which goods are sold by us to customers through this website.  Please read these terms and conditions carefully before any orders are placed. You will be required to accept these terms and conditions when ordering from the website.

 

DEFINITIONS

The Cottage Biscuit Bakery - referred to as “we” or “I” or “us “in these terms and conditions.

Contract - a contract covering the purchase and sale of goods

Goods - products sold through the website

Order - Order for products

Order confirmation - Our acceptance and confirmation of your order

Order Number - refers to the referenced number for your order

 

ORDERS AND PAYMENT

Payment is taken at the time an order is placed, rather than the time of dispatch. This includes any delivery charge. Payment methods accepted are: Credit or debit card

When an order is placed, this is checked and if there are any problems with the order, contact will be made with the customer via email or telephone.

Before submitting an order, there is an opportunity to review your order and amend it.  Please ensure any orders are carefully checked before being submitted.

If incorrect or incomplete information is provided during the order process, please contact us immediately. If an order is unable to be processed because of incorrect or incomplete information, we will contact you to ask you to correct it.  If the information is not received within a reasonable time, the order will be cancelled.

Order confirmation will include order number, confirmation of products ordered, personalisation required, pricing including delivery charges and gift message where appropriate.

If an order cannot be accepted, explanation will be sent by email and telephone. If payment has been taken, this will be refunded within 30 days.

 

PERSONAL MESSAGES

We reserve the right not to send a message that may contain offensive and/or inappropriate content.

 

GOODS, PRICING AND AVAILABILIY

We make all reasonable efforts to ensure that all descriptions of our products correspond to the actual product.  Pictures of products are for illustrative purposes only. There may be slight variations in colour between pictures of a product and the actual products as the products are handmade.

There may be a slight variation in the size and weight of our products due to the handmade nature of the products.

We cannot guarantee that products will always be available. If an item is out of stock we aim to restock with 10 working days.

All prices are correct at the time of going online. We reserve the right to change prices as necessary.

In the event that a product price changes between an order being placed and the order being processed and payment taken, the price shown on the website at the time of placing the order will be charged.

Delivery charges are not included in the product price, these charges are shown separately on the website.

 

DISPATCH AND DELIVERY

All products purchased through the site will normally be delivered within 7 working days, after date of confirmation of order by Royal Mail.

95% of Royal Mail parcels arrive the very next day but some can take longer and therefore is not a guaranteed service. Unfortunately we’re not able to take responsibility for any delays on their part. 

If the product cannot be posted through a letterbox and no one is available at your delivery address to receive the products, Royal Mail will leave a delivery note explaining how to rearrange delivery or where to collect the products

 

RETURNS POLICY

Returns are only accepted for goods which arrived damaged or are sent in error. If you find your order is damaged please contact us immediately and no later than 7 working days after receipt with photographic evidence. We must be reasonably satisfied that the products were not damaged after delivery. The products must be returned to us in the condition in which you received them with original packaging. 

Any refunds due will be made using the same payment method used when ordering the products.  Refunds are given at our discretion.

 

CANCELLATION

You can cancel your order at any time prior to receiving your shipping confirmation as long as you contact us by email (thecottagebiscuitbakery@gmail.com quoting your name, address, name and description of goods and reference number.

Upon cancellation, we will contact you and confirm cancellation and issue a refund.

COMPLAINTS AND FEEDBACK

We always welcome feedback from our customers. We always use all reasonable endeavours to ensure all customers have a positive experience with us, but we want to hear from you if you have cause to complain.

All personal information that we may collect from you including your name, address and telephone number, debit/credit card details will be collected, used and held in accordance with the provisions of the Data Protection Act 1998 and your rights under that Act.

We may use your personal information to provide our products to you, process your order and payment for the products and inform you of new products available from us. (you may request that we stop sending you information at any time.

We will never sell or pass your personal information to any third parties other than for the sole reason of processing your order.

On some pages, you can submit information about other people. For example, if you order a gift online and want it sent directly to the recipient, you will need to submit the recipient’s name and address. In this circumstance, the types of personal information collected are:

We may transfer our obligations and rights under these Terms of Sale and under that the contact to a third party if we sell our business. If this happens, you will be informed in writing,

You may not transfer your obligations and rights under these Terms of Sale (and contract) without our express written consent.

We may revise these Terms of Sale from time to time in response to changes in relevant laws and other regulatory requirements.

 

LAW AND JURISDICTION

These terms of sale and the relationship between you and us shall be governed by, and construed in accordance with English Law.

Any disputes concerning these Terms of Sale, the relationship between you and us, or ay matters arising there from shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
